SIDF Signs Training and Professional Development Agreement with the Council of Saudi Chambers

SIDF Signs Training and Professional Development Agreement with the Council of Saudi Chambers

17 Nov 2020

The Saudi Industrial Development Fund (SIDF) signed a Cooperation agreement with the Council of Saudi Chambers focused on training and professional development with the aim of extending the reach of SIDF’s thought leadership services to the industrial ecosystem.

The signing ceremony was held in the presence of SIDF’s CEO Dr. Ibrahim Almojel and the Chairman of the Council of Saudi Chambers, Mr. Ajlan Al-Ajlan. The agreement was signed by Engineer Noor Shabib, SIDF’s Vice President for Strategic Planning and Business Development, and Dr. Khaled Al-Yahya, Secretary General of the Council of Saudi Chambers.

Commenting on the signing, Dr. Ibrahim Almojel noted that this partnership falls within the framework of SIDF’s efforts aimed at enhancing the engagement with the private sector as it is a key partner in the economic and industrial development towards achieving the strategic goals of Vision 2030.

“This agreement reflects SIDF’s corporate values of development, industrial enablement and client’s success, and stresses SIDF’s keenness on building capacity and enabling the private sector throughout Saudi Arabia,” added Dr. Almojel.

From his part, Mr. Ajlan Al-Ajlan stressed the significance of the partnership for the Saudi business sector given the keenness of the leadership of Saudi Arabia on stimulating economic sectors and particularly the industrial sector that has the special attention of all government entities.

Under the agreement, SIDF will provide professional training to the employees of the Saudi chambers of commerce and industry nationwide focusing on SIDF’s initiatives and procedures, including the new loan application process, to help them liaise the relationship between SIDF and the private sector, and guide investors interested in SIDF’s services.

The agreement also comprises the provision of a training program entitled: "How to Start your Industrial Project?" directed to women entrepreneurs to help them start up their projects and advise them on SIDF’s enablement, procedures and tools. This program is an extension of an earlier program delivered two years ago in 14 Saudi cities and attended by more than 1500 entrepreneurs.

SIDF Academy, the training and development center of SIDF, will provide the content and accredited trainers for the program, and deliver specialized workshops for women on virtual channels. The training program’s workshops will start in December 2020.

SIDF Academy was created with the aim of placing SIDF’s 46-year industrial expertise at the disposal of Saudi industrialists. It collaborates with leading international learning providers, such as Stanford University, Fitch Learning and London Business School, to offer transformative programs. Since January 2020, the Academy delivered eight executive programs to more than 1000 executives from the public and private sectors.
